Deciding on the right bathroom tile design for your home will not be a simple matter when you start your remodeling project; unfortunately, the choice of styles available means making a decision can take quite some time. Cost is always an issue, but there are many designs available and at all price ranges. Some tile designs are more desirable than others including those that are more traditional like stone, Italian marble and the famous harlequin design but colorful tiles are also becoming more popular.
The harlequin pattern is a true classic which is basically, a bathroom tile that boasts the harlequin motif which is arranged as diamonds rather than squares. Often these tiles are oblong shaped and seem to resemble the costume of a mime if you can recall what that looks like.
My favorite is the black and white design as the effect it has is hard to match and always improves the look of a bathroom. Whilst the style will go with many bath types and polished fixings, it is when they are used in combination with a traditional bath tub that the best effect is seen.
The effect this provides can make it look as though you have spent a fortune on your bathroom but chrome and other polished metal fixings can cause problems as they mark easily. Despite the wonderful appearance, it is something to consider especially when you have younger children that absolutely adore making patterns and marks with their hands.
Despite the color choices it is the traditional black on white that provides the best finish and is usually the easiest to buy without having to place a special order. Those who want to spend a little more on the bathroom tile design can opt for beautiful marble accents that pull the whole look together.
Whilst tiles are intrinsically expensive there are ways to ensure you have a unique design that won’t cost a fortune; try using good but less expensive bathroom tiles as a base for your creation. Once you have this it is a simple matter of choosing a higher quality tile to place within the overall design and as you won’t be using a huge number of them, it really wont matter how much they cost.
Unless you have tiled a room before, this is probably not a good time to learn so it will be worth the additional cost of having a tradesman carry out this task if you want it to look good. You will undoubtedly save quite a sum of money if you carry out this part of your bathroom remodeling project yourself but it will invariably take considerably longer and will you be happy with the result?
